About

I want to inspire you to live the way you want to live.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than making stuff. I create so much that I cannot possibly keep it all. I started selling my art as a way of finding loving and appreciative homes for all the characters and ideas that pop out of my imagination. This has allowed to be able to focus on it full time.

Through my artworks, I invite you to step into another world, one filled with quirky characters and a touch of magic. I love making dolls and assemblage boxes, and have recently learnt new papier mache techniques from Julie Arkell, which are finding their way into creations. I also paint the quaint people of my imagination, who always have beautiful, alluring faces and often a touch of darkness about them, too.

I am passionate about DIY, and you’ll find protests to consumer culture and mass-manufacturing in my work, as I believe this is the opposite of finding our inner creative pathway. Some of my pieces have a strongly urban, graffiti style. For me, graffiti is the authentic voice of protest, an image of beauty that is not about money. It’s proof of the DIY ethos of an individual who has not bowed down to the “experts”. I paint graffiti on reclaimed wood to bring inside, where the images can give us pause to think, and remind us how we really want to live.

I minimise waste and resource use by choosing simple, versatile tools and scavenged materials. The imperfections of reclaimed objects become a part of the finished work. I further age them with layers of paint, often slashing and sanding them back to reveal vulnerabilities below.

I hope with my work you’ll find inspiration. I want to inspire you and your children to live creatively, and live the way YOU want to live. As well as artworks, I create zines that will help nudge you towards your dreams, be they creative or otherwise. You’ll find a manifesto for living well outside of consumer culture, and vibrant, colourful artworks that serve as a daily affirmation for your choices.
